Oct 3, 2015 Torah Study

There will be a Torah Study on Saturday Morning, October 3, 2015, between 10 AM and NOON.   It will be at the home of Diane Baumgart and Myron Schreck – 494 Ridge Road, Moscow Idaho.   If you need directions, you can email schreck2020 @ msn.com.     Rabbi Goldstein will discuss “Hagar in the wilderness and the ways in which this teaches us about perception and awareness.”   We will also discuss the early rabbinic perspective on whether the potential for evil should be preemptively stopped by either human or divine force.”
In the past, the Torah Study Group had discussed “The Death of Death: Resurrection and Immortality in Jewish Thought” by Neil Gillman.  Further discussion of this book will await the November 7 meeting of the Torah Study Group.

The Sunday School Program

   The Parent-Run Sunday School Program is looking for an experienced, fun, and patient instructor to join the current instructors for a once-a-month two-hour Sunday School for Jewish children in the Moscow/Pullman area during the school year. Students range from kindergarten through eighth grade and are at an introductory level. Previous experience teaching Jewish Sunday school is a plus, and experience working with kids and a strong knowledge of Judaism are essential. Instructors are responsible for planning lessons and for leading a fun and interactive class.   The first class of the coming semester will be in September from 10:30-12:30, and it will meet one Sunday a month through the spring of 2016.
